Company “Kyslotoupor” calls on Parliament to support the current wording of draft laws amending the Land Code. According to Yana Petrova, Head of the Legal Department at Kyslotoupor, this will provide effective safeguards for subsoil users against land price speculation.

One of the largest mineral resource developers in Ukraine, ahead of the vote in the Verkhovna Rada, draws lawmakers’ attention to the importance of adopting Draft Law No. 2194, which proposes amendments to the Land Code aimed at deregulating land relations.

In particular, the company emphasizes the importance of harmonizing legislative provisions with other regulatory acts and granting a priority right to purchase land to companies that hold a special permit for subsoil use beneath the relevant land plot.

According to Ms. Petrova, previous regulations contained a certain legal “conflict”, whereby the priority right to purchase land was granted to existing land tenants, even in cases where companies holding a special permit (license) for subsoil use under that land plot existed.

If adopted, this provision will encourage investment in exploration and, subsequently, in the development of mineral deposits, which will have a positive impact on the growth of the extractive industry and the creation of new jobs.

Kyslotoupor specializes in the development, extraction, and sale of mineral resources. The company has over 20 years of experience, having implemented seven successful projects in the mining industry, four of which were developed from scratch. From 2010 to 2020, Kyslotoupor consistently ranked among the top three exporters of clay and gypsum, supplying more than 10 countries across Europe, Asia, and the CIS, including Italy, Spain, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and others.
